A message from Pam Skinner, Senior Vice President, College Operations:

Niagara College employees are invited to celebrate Ralph Scholz’s career and contributions to Niagara College at a reception on March 28 from 1-3 p.m. at the Welland Campus in The Core. Drop by at any time to pass your good wishes on to Ralph. Short speeches and a presentation will take place at 1:45 p.m.

For seven years, as the Director of Facilities Management Services, Ralph has overseen the continued transformation of both the Welland Campus and Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Ralph joined the College in October of 2014, and immediately undertook the Master Plan Update and Capital Vision Campus Redevelopment Program. In NOTL, notable projects have included the construction of the Teaching Distillery, Cannabunker, and the Marotta Family Innovation Complex bringing new Athletics and Food & Beverage Research facilities to campus. Ralph was also integral in the expansion of the CFWI, redesign of the East Parking Lot and campus roadways, and renovations of the Learning Commons, Rankin Family Student Commons, Student Services and International departments, and NCSAC offices.

At the Welland Campus, Ralph oversaw the construction of the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre, Welland Academic Training Facility, Green Automotive Building, Student Commons and Justice Studies labs. He also guided the renovation of the Pavilion building to house the Teaching Hair Salon, redesign of Administrative and Academic Service areas, including the LRC, Test Centre and Health Services, and development of the new Massage Therapy lab and the Marylin I. Walker Centre of Excellence in Visual Arts and Technology.

As well, Ralph played an integral part in the purchase of the Niagara Corporate Business Centre at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus.

Ralph is looking forward to time with his family at the cottage, flying his plane and travelling with his wife during his retirement.

Please join us on March 28 to celebrate Ralph’s incredible impact on all our facilities. His last day on campus will be March 29.
