Stephen Parr with YourTV Niagara visited NC’s Teaching Brewery on March 9 to film a segment on the College’s Pink Boots collaboration beer, which is part of a global initiative launched by the Pink Boots Society to support women in the beer industry.
The segment includes interviews with CFWI Associate Dean Maija Saari, NC Brewmaster Jon Downing, as well as Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management students Rachel Donnelly and Robin Marshall, who participated in the initiative over a two-day period from Mar. 8-9.
NC’s 2022 Pink Boots Brew is a Double IPA that uses a special Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day hops blend from Yakima Chief Hops. Yamika donates $3 from every pound sold to the Pink Boots Society for education and programming. During the segment, Downing also highlights that one of the hops in the blend is grown on a hop farm that is run by women.
