Niagara Dailies: Niagara College professor with green thumb brings home award for cannabis program

Bill MacDonald, Professor and Program Coordinator for NC’s Commercial Cannabis Production program was in the media spotlight after winning the Cultivation Education Award at the Grow Up Conference and Expo, held in Niagara Falls on December 1.

A Dec. 3 article in the Niagara Dailies shared news of MacDonald’s award, noting that he was nominated among seven others, including the University of Guelph, private career colleges, expert growers and industry leaders.

MacDonald is quoted in the article, giving a nod to the NC team. “This award is for the whole team – professors, technologists, technicians, and administration at Niagara College – that supported the development of this program right from the beginning,” he said.
