Angela Butt, Associate Dean of NC’s School of Nursing and PSW, was interviewed by Newstalk 610 CKTB’s Matt Holmes on October 30.

During the interview, Butt discussed NC’s response to the critical need for health-care workers in Ontario. She highlighted the positive response to the accelerated PSW program offering with funding from the provincial government removing financial barriers for some students. She explained how the program’s modular design, with a focus on one course at a time, allowed the College to deliver the condensed program optimally and to more students, noting that the program, which normally accepts 40 students in May, took in 80 students in both May and June and another 20 in August.

Butt also applauded the program’s community partnerships and thanked the partners who take time, when they are already over-extended, to mentor students and provide them with real-world experience for their placements.
