Tara Woronchuk, a Welland resident who sits on the City’s Town and Gown Committee, makes note of Niagara College students’ positive and respectful behaviour in this article from Kris Dubé with the Niagara Dailies.
In the piece, Woronchuk says that students have “been very respectful of the neighbourhood” over the last several years thanks to the work of the Committee, a partnership with NC, Niagara Regional Police and Niagara Region’s Waste Management department. Over the last several years, especially since the pandemic, she has witnessed fewer parties and less garbage lining the streets near NC’s Welland Campus and notes that the college has “really stepped up” in recent years.
NC’s Director of Student Services Lianne Gagnon, also a member of the Committee, is quoted in the article and echoes Woronchuk’s sentiments.
