Nicholas Tibollo with The Niagara Independent wrote an article about the NC Teaching Brewery’s golden performance at the 2021 U.S. Open Beer Championship, held on September 6. The Teaching Brewery picked up gold medal honours for three of its Beer 101 series brews – Beer 101 Bitter, Beer 101 Bock and  Beer 101 Strong Ale – and finished in the competition’s top 10 – the only teaching brewery to do so.

The coverage includes quotes from Steve Gill, General Manager of NC’s Learning Enterprise Corporation, and Brewmaster Professor Jon Downing, who speak to the quality of the Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program, its faculty and student-crafted beers.

Tibollo also mentions how the NC Teaching Brewery was the first of its kind in Canada when it opened in 2011. He includes a comment from Ontario Craft Brewers Association President Scott Simmons, who congratulated NC in Spring 2021 when the Teaching Brewery celebrated its tenth anniversary. Simmons comments on NC’s success and its contributions in growing Ontario’s brewing industry.
