After a hiatus during the 2020-21 academic year due to COVID-19 restrictions, NC’s Athletics & Recreation is working towards a gradual return to their operations for the 2021-22 year. Their season kicks off with try-outs for aspiring Knights for women and men’s soccer and golf.
Knights soccer tryouts began on August 21 and 22, and will continue on August 28 and 29 at Youngs Sportsplex. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this season will see a restructuring of divisions, with teams from east and west divisions divided into four regional divisions. NC joins the south division alongside Sheridan College, Mohawk College, and Redeemer University.
Both the women and men’s teams will start their OCAA travel season on September 18 at Redeemer, followed by Mohawk on September 21. The Knights will return home to Niagara to face Sheridan on September 25.
Try-outs for women and men’s golf will be held on August 27 and 28 at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club.
Athletics & Recreation is working on a plan to begin to offering fitness classes, open gym time, and recreational activities, operating within provincial COVID measures and requirements. Athletics & Recreation will take a phased-in approach and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back later in the Fall Term.
