The Niagara Dailies reported on lower rates of vaccination against COVID-19 among youth, and efforts underway to encourage vaccination ahead of the start of the school year.
According to Dr. Mustafa Hirji, the region’s acting medical officer of health, public health data shows higher vaccination rates in those ages 18 to 29 around post-secondary institutions than elsewhere in the region.
In reporter Ray Spiteri’s interview with Dr. Hirji, he says that NC and NCSAC “have been very heavily involved in promoting vaccine to their students, so I think that has probably helped.”
