As we wrap up the Spring/Summer Term and reflect on all that we have accomplished together through many disruptions and much uncertainty, I want to thank all of you for your steadfast commitment to student success over the last 18 months. Our students have expressed gratitude for their academic support systems, and I truly appreciate all your efforts.
As we continue to chart our course towards a more fulsome program delivery on campus this fall, keeping a pulse on student feedback is essential to driving positive change.
I would like to ask for your support to promote the Spring Term Course Feedback Surveys which launch on August 6. You have an important role to play in explaining the importance of student feedback to our students, and I encourage you to allow for time in class to complete them, if possible. The more we can all do to encourage student responses the more feedback we will receive.
The survey will be live from August 6 to 23.
The information garnered from course feedback surveys allow us to assess our courses and programs and innovate to provide the quality of education and student experience that we are proud of at Niagara College. Organized and administered by the Centre for Academic Excellence (CAE), these surveys are an opportunity for students to provide honest, constructive feedback about the quality of their courses.
We are once again offering gift card incentives for students to participate. For each course survey they complete, students can enter to win a $25 gift card of their choice (selected from a list of vendors). You can assure your students that Course Feedback Surveys remain confidential and separate from their contest entries.
An email will be sent to students with instructions for accessing their surveys via Blackboard, and to let them know that they may be completed from any computer or device. They will also be informed of their chance to win a gift card.
Faculty members can view the list of their courses being surveyed and how many students have completed the survey in real time through Blackboard. To view the final results, log in a week after the course ends (log in to Blackboard and click on the ‘MyBlackboard’ tab. View the ‘MyCoursEval’ section with your courses hyperlinked).
