This piece in The St. Standard centres around Niagara College’s partnership with philanthropic group the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) St. Catharines club. Rather than their signature ticketed house tour event, the club offered a virtual garden tour in partnership with Niagara College to continue their support of scholarships for students in Niagara.
The event marks the clubs 100th year of fundraising and featured a talk by NC’s Paul Zammit, professor in the School of Environment and Horticulture.
NC’s Peter (Dutch) Vandenberg, professor in the School of Media Studies, coordinated the filming of Theresa Forte’s virtual garden tour.
The fundraiser for students raised $14,000 to date. The videos and presentations are available for viewing any time from June 19 to July 11. Tickets are $10 (plus a small surcharge) at cfuwstcatharines.org/
