Two NC alumni were featured in a story by Newstalk 610 CKTB for their success on Food Network Canada’s show Top Chef Canada. Erica Karbelnik (Culinary Management co-op, 2011) was crowned the winner on the season nine finale, airing on June 7. Her husband Josh (Culinary Management co-op, 2011) was a finalist in the top four.
The story notes Erica’s Niagara inspiration for one of her dishes during the competition; a seared pork chip with apple and wheatberry risotto reminiscent of her field trip to a Niagara pig farm during her time as an NC student.
