Niagara College has expanded its on-campus cannabis research capabilities with the recent installation of a dedicated Cannabis Production Research Chamber and Newstalk 610 CKTB shared the news.
The new “CannaResearchBunker,” located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, is comprised of two retrofitted sea containers that have been connected to the existing “CannaBunker,” which has been used by the Commercial Cannabis Production program since 2018. The expansion will provide the required space and specialized equipment to grow crops, complete trials, and conduct research in partnership with the cannabis industry under NC’s Agriculture & Environmental Technologies Innovation Centre (AETIC). Intake for research projects will begin in fall of 2021.
