October has been a time for all of us at NC – staff, faculty and students alike – to think about what we can do to keep the devices that we use in our daily lives safe and secure.
Our devices keep us connected and play an important role in the way we learn, teach and work at the College. It’s important to think about cybersecurity when using our devices to ensure that our personal information and our college systems remain protected – cyber security is a collective responsibility that we all play a part in.
Key takeaways:
- Always enable multi-factor authentication when possible;
- Keep your devices updated by downloading software upgrades;
- Never click on suspicious links or download files from an unknown source;
- Educate yourself about cyber threats and learn how to identify them when using your devices.
#CSAM2020 was a time to appreciate our devices, but the fun doesn't have to stop here. Device appreciation is an important activity year-round. Here's how you can start making a habit of it: t.co/mopKx1pQal #GetCyberSafe pic.twitter.com/WxY4sCK7Yx
