A message from Dawit Eshetu, Associate Dean, Bachelor Degrees & Graduate Programs, School of Business & Management Studies:

It is with mixed feelings that I announce the resignation of Mark Parker. Mark joined Niagara College in 2009 and was a professor within the School of Business, teaching in the international business programs.

As many of you know, Mark was highly admired and respected by his students. He was a great student mentor, a champion of applied research within the School of Business, and used his industry experience and connections to benefit students tremendously. As you might know, Mark has an extensive background in marketing and business development in steel and mining companies worldwide.

In his words: “Niagara College served me well when offered a position I desired during challenging economic times. It allowed me to develop my teaching skills, opened my horizons to new industries and fields of research, and enabled me to advance in my academic career. Most importantly, the enjoyment of teaching and students showed me my true calling in life.”

Mark holds a B.E.S. degree in Urban Planning from the University of Waterloo, an MBA in Marketing from Brock University, and is completing his PhD at the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot-Watt University. He has accepted an academic position with Brock University. His last day with us will be on September 3, 2020.

Please join me in congratulating Mark on his successful tenure with NC. Thank you for being a great faculty member and inspiration for so many students!
