As the College’s week-long Virtual Spring Convocation Ceremonies continue, Education News Canada shared NC’s June 16 release about highlights from the second day of celebration that saw 380 new graduates from the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, as well as almost 500 new graduates from the School of Justice and Fitness Studies, and School of Allied Health.
Guest speaker Clara Hughes, six-time Olympic medalist and mental health advocate, encouraged the Class of 2020 to reflect not only on their successes but on the ‘lessons learned along the way’ that often come from the most unexpected teachers in life. NC president Sean Kennedy also shared several lessons he has learned with the graduating students. He spoke about the importance of being your own person, embracing lifelong learning, building relationships and embracing challenge.
The release also highlighted that the first day of the virtual ceremonies drew more than 17,500 livestream views from 63 countries around the world.
