Bernd Franke from the Niagara Dailies wrote an article about father and son duo Mike Rao, head coach of Brock University’s women’s basketball team and Chris Rao, head coach of the NC Knights women’s basketball team, who recently joined the Guelph Nighthawks’ coaching staff.
Chris Rao, who has been named an assistant coach for the Nighthawks, is accustomed to spending the basketball off-season coaching for other teams and views all experiences as learning opportunities.
“It’s fun. It’s a lot of learning,” said Rao. “The work is good, and it makes me a better coach. That’s the fun part about coaching as much as you can.”
