On Nov. 14, The Auroran covered the grand re-opening of Aurora’s Historic Armoury, a new partnership in the York Region between the Town of Aurora and Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute.

Commissioned under Queen Victoria in the 1870s, the historic building was home to the Queen’s York Rangers regiment for over 100 years. Over 150 people attended the ribbon-cutting, sampling student-made beer and wine made at the CFWI, and touring the building’s new state-of-the-art teaching kitchen.

NC President Dan Patterson and dean of the CFWI, Craig Yougale, are noted for their remarks at the grand opening, calling the building “spectacular” and commending the partnership and mutual vision with the Town of Aurora.
