Niagara Now’s Dariya Baiguzhiyeva wrote about Niagara College being named the number one college for applied research in Canada for 2018. NC scored the top spot in the annual Top 50 Research Colleges report published by Research Infosource Inc. Baiguzhiyeva attended the formal announcement at the Marotta Family Innovation Complex at the NOTL Campus on Nov. 12 by Marc Nantel, vice-president, research, innovation and strategic initiatives, and President Dan Patterson.
Patterson explained that NC has supported small- and medium-sized enterprises for years, and this award recognizes the colleges support for industry research. Nantel commends the great work of staff, students, faculty and industry experts in NC’s Research and Innovation division who work to provide solutions to industry opportunities.
Canadian Food and Wine Institute centre manager Lyndon Ashton said, “The experiential learning is coupled with knowledge transfer to our industry partners so all the intellectual property that’s being developed goes back to them,”
