Irish news source The Connaught Telegraph reported on a new partnership between Niagara College and The Mayo GMIT Campus in Galway, Ireland. The partnership will provide international exchange opportunities for students and staff in Early Childhood Education (ECE) degree programs at both colleges.
Carol Phillips, associate dean, Community Services at NC took a tour of the GMIT Campus, met students and staff, and signed the formal agreement. ECE students at GMIT Mayo will be able to study at NC in their second year, and NC students will have the chance to study in Galway in their third or fourth year of the program.
Irish educator Mary Skillington who took part in NC’s ECE program review in 2019 explained that the exchange partnership will help students “develop greater independence and self-confidence. It will prepare our graduates to be work-ready and enhance links with Niagara College’s ‘Be World Ready’ initiative.”
