Rod Mahood interviewed NC’s Chris Rao and his father Mike Rao on Newstalk 610 CKTB’s Niagara Sports Report on Tuesday, August 3. Chris and Mike Rao are both women’s basketball coaches in Niagara, Rao Jr. for the NC Knights, and Rao Sr. for the Brock Badgers.
Mahood asked father and son a series of questions about their love of the game and how they found their way into coaching women’s basketball and their coaching philosophies.
A Welland native, Rao Jr. will start his first head coaching position at the post-secondary level at NC this fall after three seasons as an assistant with the men’s team at Cape Breton University and another with the men’s team at Acadia University.
