This piece by Laura Vertucci for Modern Mississauga highlights six Niagara-on-the-Lake wines in honour of Pinot Noir day on August 18. On that list is NC Teaching Winery, 2017 Les Marmitons Gastronomy Pinot Noir, sourced from the Westcott Vineyard on Vinemount Ridge with fruit that was fermented spontaneously, bottled without filtration after 14 months in French oak barrels. Vertucci describes it as, “Featuring red fruit flavours balanced by earth, spice and dried herbs. The wine will develop further complexity with age.”
