On June 28, Academica Group reported on a new $250,000 grant announced at Niagara College to help 25 companies in the advanced manufacturing, food and beverage, and agriculture environment technologies industries. The funding will support innovation challenges through the adoption of new technology.
The businesses will receive support from NC’s Agriculture & Environmental Technologies Innovation Centre, Canadian Food and Wine Institute Innovation Centre, and Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre.
NC’s Marc Nantel, vice president Research, Innovation and Strategic Initiatives, expresses his gratitude to the OCE (Ontario Centre of Excellence) for the funding and asserts that NC will be able to help small- and medium-sized businesses gain an edge on the competition.
As a result of the grant, NC students will have the opportunity to apply their learning to working with industry partners.
