Niagara Now shared the story published in The Lake Report on Niagara College President Dan Patterson’s announcement that he will not seek another term after June 30, 2020. After almost 25 year’s leading Niagara College through major growth, Patterson will leave behind a legacy.

The piece provides examples of key growth areas at the College, including the many “firsts” in Canada by the College: the NC Teaching Winery, Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program, full-time Photonics Engineering Technician program, Artisan Distilling program, and the Commercial Cannabis Production program.

“No other college or university has a 38-acre working vineyard, a two-acre hop yard, a greenhouse,” says Patterson of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus he helped envision.

Patterson calls his experience as President “exhilarating.” The story includes the significant enrollment and budget growth since his presidency began in 1995.

“I’m so proud of what I and my team have been able to accomplish and marvel at what we’ve accomplished,” Patterson told The Lake Report.
