Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for the late afternoon and evening of Feb. 20. Precipitation may begin as a brief period of snow and ice pellets, changing to freezing rain late this afternoon or early this evening. Freezing rain will change to occasional rain or drizzle later this evening as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Students, staff and visitors should use extra caution when travelling to and around College campuses, and allow extra time to park. Please walk carefully on snow- or ice-covered surfaces, especially slopes or stairs, and wear appropriate footwear.
The college will continue to monitor this weather event – any updates to college operations will be posted to the college’s website and social media channels. For general information regarding inclement weather and closures, visit www.niagaracollege.ca/visit/inclement-weather-and-closures/
