Nursing prof travelled to Cambridge, U.K. to speak at the fourth biennial European Scientific Conference in Nursing.

Holldrid Odreman PhD, nursing faculty and coordinator of Niagara College’s Practical Nursing program, traveled to Cambridge, U.K. in June to speak at a European Scientific Nursing conference hosted by the Honor Society of Nursing-Sigma Theta Tau International and the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

The theme of the conference was Leading Nursing in Times of Change: Education, Research, and Practice.The conference provided Odreman the opportunity to represent NC’s School of Nursing and develop an international network of nurse researchers, nurse educators, and nurse administrators from around world.

Odreman presented a research study he and another nursing faculty member, Dawn Clyens, conducted. The title of the presentation, Using Debriefing Styles and Concept Mapping as Strategies for Teaching & Assessment of Nursing Students, attracted the attention of nursing educators and researchers. Odreman shared with the conference audience how the use of concept mapping can enhance learning experiences and be a powerful educational tool to guide the debriefing process and reflective practice of nursing students.
