Students support Women’s Place: Collection underway until April 7

A collection for Women’s Place of South Niagara is now underway at the College’s Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus.

Students from the General Arts and Science Degree Transfer program are collecting items to be donated to Women’s Place such as new clothing, and new or gently used baby supplies, toiletries, small household items and toys.

The initiative is part of their Leadership Studies class project.

“Not only did we think this organization’s cause was something that is beneficial in aiding our community’s growth, but – being a class of mostly females – we have an added amount of compassion for these women,” said student Faith Miller. “We have a few classes, including a cultural diversity course, that speak a lot about women’s rights and social issues, not to mention a few {students} who can directly relate to issues surrounding the misfortunes or some of the hardships faced by single mothers and those in abusive relationships.”

To donate

Drop off items in room W307. Donations are being accepted until April 7.
