Brewmaster students to host craft beer festival April 11

Craft beer lovers: Mark your calendar for April 11.

That will be the date for Project Brew 2015, a craft beer and local food festival hosted by the graduating class of Niagara College’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program.  The event will take place from noon until 4 p.m. at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, in the central courtyard of the main building (or in the cafeteria in case of inclement weather).

The festival will showcase 22 unique final project beers that the students have been working diligently on all semester in preparation for the festival as well to coincide with Tap’s Magazine Student Beer Scholarship. Established craft breweries from the area will also attend to share their products. The event will also host local food vendors to round out the appetite of the gathering with delectable beer paired dishes.

This event is token-based for beer sampling ($2 per 4oz. sample) and cash for food vendors. A $20 entry fee supplies guests with a commemorative tulip glass as well as five starter tokens for beer sampling. It will be held at the Niagara College (NOTL Campus) in the center courtyard of the main building.

Guests may also donate a non-perishable food item for the Niagara College Student Administrative Council Food Bank in exchange for one token (limit one per each attendee). Profits raised from the festival will be donated to the food bank.
