New prof joins Culinary Innovation and Food Technology program

Message from Gary Torraville, associate dean, Canadian Food and Wine Institute:

Sarbjit BamrahI am pleased to welcome Sarbjit (Sabi) Bamrah as our newest faculty member for the Culinary Innovation and Food Technology program at the Canadian Food and Wine Institute.

Sabi joins us from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) where she spent two years as a CFIA inspector in Processed Fruits and Vegetables program and Honey program and three years as CFIA regional auditor in the Meat Program.

In addition she has extensive food industry experience working within Quality Control and Production departments with companies such as Santa Maria Foods, Sun Rich Foods and Unico Foods. Sabi has a Masters degree in Food Technology, is a member of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, and has very strong knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Food Safety.

I know she will be a welcomed addition to the team here at the CFWI and look forward to her sharing her experiences, skills and knowledge with our students.
