Niagara College is offering students and employers a world of opportunity at its upcoming All About Options Employment and Education Expos at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses.
For students, it’s a chance to meet with a wide range of employers for co-op placements or full-time, part-time or seasonal employment, as well as colleges and universities that offer post-graduate study options. More than 85 businesses and educational institutions will be on hand. A full list of exhibitors is available online.
For employers, it’s an opportunity to recruit qualified students, who are ready to hit the ground running and make a positive impact in the workplace.
“Each year, All About Options provides a chance to meet students face-to-face, from a wide range of program areas,” said Mike Tombolini, human resources officer with the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Tombolini participates in All About Options every year, recruiting students for all areas of the Royal Botanical Gardens’ operations.
“We have a great partnership with Niagara College, and a strong rapport with faculty and career-services staff,” he said. “We find that Niagara College students come well-prepare with the necessary workplace skills.”
Kristine Dawson, NC’s manager of co-op and graduate employment services says her department works hard to ensure students are well-prepared for their employment search – whether it’s resume preparation, networking workshops or one-on-one help with a counselor.
“All About Options is a great event that helps students network with professionals in their field and learn more about potential employment opportunities,” she said. “For students who are considering the next step in their educational pathway, All About Options also includes representatives of more than 30 Canadian and international educational institutions that offer degree-completion and other opportunities.”
All About Options takes place at the Welland Campus on Wednesday, January 29 in the Learning Commons, and Thursday, January 30 at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus on the main floor and lower level. Both events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
