United Way: Coffee and trivia and prizes, oh my!

Niagara College’s United Way Campaign Committee is excited to announce two upcoming events and draw prizes for the week of November 18-22.

Bench to Go November 18-22

From November 18-22, Bench to Go at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus will donate all proceeds from coffee and tea sales to the United Way campaign. Make sure to mark your calendars and head to Bench to Go all next week to get your caffeine fix. Spread the word and help make November 18-22 the biggest week ever for coffee sales at Bench to Go.

Trivia Night at The Core

On December 3, Niagara Research will host Trivia Night at The Core (Welland Campus). Teams of eight can compete for $140, or individuals can register for $20 per person. The event will run from 6-8 p.m. and promises to be a night of fun and challenge with friends and co-workers. Staff and faculty are encouraged a team together from their department and challenge a fellow department. For tickets, contact Meagan (ext. 4272) or Michelle (ext. 7180) at Niagara Research.

November 18 Prize Draw

The next prize draw takes place Monday, November 18. Those who donate before this date will be eligible to win one of these great prizes that will be given away, generously donated by Benchmark and the Wine Visitor + Education Centre:

* A nine-piece kitchen carving tool set;
* Superfast digital thermometer;
* Le Creuset Casserole dish;
* Two bottles of wine; and
* One bottle of Dillon’s Vodka, proudly distilled locally in Beamsville.
To be eligible for the prize draw, donate to the campaign through one of three channels:
* Payroll deduction, by clicking here;
* Cheque, by contacting Michelle Carile through Groupwise or at ext. 7292; or
* Credit card, by contacting Michelle Carile through Groupwise or at ext. 7292.
Once a donation is made, the giver’s name will be entered into every draw, so the earlier a donation is made, the more chances there are to win.

Campaign Progress

Thanks to the NC community, the United Way Campaign has already raised more than $24,300. The campaign has reached 70% of its $35,000 goal and can reach 100% with additional support: $2.25 per pay period for one year will make all the difference.

Pledges made now will start being deducted from payroll in January 2014; current payroll deductions will reflect contributions to the 2012 campaign. To support the 2013 campaign, please make a new pledge to begin in January.

For more information, contact this year’s campaign co-chairs: Matthew Davies, ext. 7288 or Vivian Kinnaird, ext. 4126.
