WVEC celebrates Niagara Icewine Festival with cool offerings

Planning to celebrate the Niagara Icewine Festival which begins this weekend? Be sure to stop in at Niagara College’s Wine Visitor + Education Centre.

The WVEC will be participating in the Niagara Icewine Festival Discovery Passport Program for the next three weekends in January (12-13, 19-20, and 26-27) from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Passports are $40 (plus HST) and may be purchased by contacting the Niagara Icewine Festival at niagaraicewinefestival.com or 905-688-0212.

While at the WVEC, indulge in The Dynamic Duo:  a sample of the NC Teaching Winery’s 2010 Dean’s List Cabernet Franc Icewine paired with salted caramel cheesecake. This pairing, put together by the Niagara College Teaching Winery and the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

It’s cold outside, the holidays are over and your wallet may not be as heavy as it used to be. The WVEC has an offer for you – Frostbitten. This is a gift package of unsurpassable surprises. Visit the WVEC during the month of January and receive a ballot to win this never-before-seen experience.

Don’t forget to watch out for the NC Teaching Winery at Icewine Street Festival in Niagara-in-the-Lake next weekend (Jan 19-20).
