As Niagara College continues to monitor weather forecasts and statements, evening classes and academic activities will run as scheduled today (February 12) and updates for February 13 will be posted by 6:30 am on Thursday.

 According to Environment Canada, winter weather is expected to bring significant snowfall to southern Ontario late Wednesday and into Thursday. In Niagara, snow is expected to begin late Wednesday afternoon and continue into Thursday morning, with up to 10 cm possible. Precipitation is expected to begin as snow late Wednesday afternoon and transition to freezing rain during the late evening before changing to either snow or rain on Thursday morning. 

 An update on College operations for Thursday will be posted by 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 13 on the Niagara College website and on College social media channels. 

Surfaces may become icy and slippery and students, employees and visitors are encouraged to take extra caution while walking or driving.

Crews will be working to clear snow and control ice on campus lots, walkways and roadways. Please be alert and mindful of the weather conditions and snow removal equipment as you walk through campus parking lots and roadways. Allow extra time as needed.

Students are also advised to monitor Brightspace for updates specific to their program areas.
