Beginning May 22, weather permitting, construction work will commence on the QEW mainline from the Highway 405 to Garden City Skyway for milling and paving operations which require the closure of Highway 405 westbound lanes. Operations are expected to take four to six weeks.

The detour route is shown below from Stanley Ave towards Thorold Stone Rd and QEW. Signage will be in place to guide traffic.

Timing:

  • Nighttime closures of Highway 405 westbound lanes will be required intermittently throughout this timeframe.
  • Closure of the Highway 405 westbound lanes between Stanley Avenue and the QEW to all traffic.
  • Hwy 405 traffic to QEW Toronto bound will be detoured at Stanley Avenue south to Thorold Stone Rd and re-entering the QEW at the Thorold Stone Rd interchange.
  • Electronic signage has been installed to provide advance warning information as well as closure notification.
