Niagara College is proud to offer Alternative Fuel Safety, a specialized training course designed to equip First Responders with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to safely manage emergency situations involving alternative fuel vehicles.
As electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered vehicles become more common on Canadian roads, emergency personnel are increasingly encountering unfamiliar systems. This course addresses the growing need for First Responders to understand the unique hazards and response protocols associated with these technologies.
The training is designed with First Responders in mind, including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers. It ensures participants are prepared to respond safely and effectively, protecting themselves and the public.

As alternative fuel vehicles become more common across Ontario, emergency personnel will increasingly encounter unfamiliar technologies. This course ensures responders are prepared for province-wide challenges, from high-voltage shutdowns to thermal runaway events, enabling consistent, safe practices that protect communities and reduce operational risks.
