A message from NC Cares 2026 Co-Chairs Leah Neamtu and Nimisha Sumathi

Co-chairing the United Way Campaign together for the first time makes this year especially meaningful. Having worked alongside each other on past campaigns, we’ve built a great partnership and share the same passion for giving back. We’ve also seen firsthand the difference United Way makes — from packing hygiene kits at The Hope Centre to supporting countless organizations across Niagara.

Our NC Cares campaign continues a proud tradition of supporting United Way Golden Horseshoe and the vital programs it provides across our region. As we launch this year’s campaign, we’re reminded that community has always been the heart of who we are at NC. Whether through donating, volunteering or simply spreading the word, every act of support can help make a difference. Together, we can continue to care for our community by helping individuals and families who need it most.

“Being part of NC Cares has been such a meaningful experience because it’s a reminder of just how caring and connected our Niagara College community truly is. Every contribution, whether it’s attending an event, making a donation, volunteering, or simply helping spread the word, has the potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community.”
Sumathi

“After being part of NC Cares for the past few years, I’m always amazed by what our college community can accomplish when we come together. We show up for our students every day – NC Cares gives us the opportunity to bring that same spirit of care and generosity to the communities we’re proud to be part of.”

“I’ve seen firsthand the incredible generosity and community spirit of Niagara College, and I’m always inspired by the way NC employees step up to support their neighbours. What makes your support of United Way so powerful is that what is raised locally, stays local, helping individuals and families right here in Niagara and strengthening the programs and services our community relies on.”
