Dear Niagara College employees,

With the launch of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Blueprint, we’re excited to announce an opportunity for NC employees to get involved in supporting the goals and actions of the blueprint.

EDI Catalysts will act as project leaders for the actions identified in the blueprint. Catalysts will be responsible for kick starting the project, identifying partnerships and resources needed, creating a project plan and timelines, communicating processes, and keeping the project on track.

This is a growth and development opportunity open to all employees and will provide those identified as EDI Catalysts with the experience of working with or leading a cross-functional team, developing and enhancing skills and contributing to NC in a new way. This opportunity is not a fulltime secondment. Instead, the time commitment will be determined by the areas of focus and the goal selected.

All EDI Catalysts will receive learning in the following areas to support success:

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Change Management
  • Project Management
  • Truth & Reconciliation

Additionally, EDI Catalysts will participate in a monthly community of practice to support success, share updates, and discuss best practices.

If you are interested in becoming an EDI Catalyst, we encourage you to register for one of the upcoming information sessions to learn more about the opportunity:

Thursday, June 15 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Wednesday, July 5 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

If you are unable to attend one of the above sessions, please submit questions to Samah Sabra.

Those interested in becoming EDI Catalysts are encouraged to speak with their manager and submit their application by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14.

EDI Catalyst applications will be reviewed by the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinating Council who will submit their Catalyst recommendations to the Executive Team for approval. All candidates will be contacted about the status of their application.

Please submit questions about the opportunity to Samah Sabra.
