On July 11, InNiagara posted an article about NC student-athlete and Welland native Natasha Desjardins, who represented NC as a torchbearer during the Welland leg of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games torch relay on July 10. Desjardins, a gifted Knights volleyball and soccer player, carried the torch through NC’s Welland Campus where she was greeted by family, friends and college supporters. She was also backed by her fellow teammates, who walked the route with her.
The article includes a comment from Desjardins about this once-in-a-lifetime experience: “I would have never imagined doing something like this in my life. With how much Niagara College means to me, it’s extremely cool to do this for the College.”
