On September 17, Education News Canada shared news that NC’s Commercial Cannabis Production program has acquired a licence from Health Canada to grow industrial hemp.
Hemp cultivation within the program will provide hands-on learning and academic research opportunities for students that will enable them “to advance Canada’s burgeoning hemp and cannabis industries when they graduate.”
Alan Unwin, NC’s Dean of Business, Tourism and Environment, and Laurie Zuber, Horticulture Technologist with the Commercial Cannabis Production program are quoted in the release.
