Local news site Niagara Now published a story on the Goettler Family Scholarship announced this summer which will provide $1,000 scholarships to 12 Niagara College students. Made possible through a donation from Niagara-on-the-Lake residents Lauren and Vaughn Goettler, the scholarship is intended for returning students who demonstrate academic excellence (over 70 per cent average) as well as financial need.
The news coverage notes that “the Goettler Family Scholarship will be the first in the college’s history from a private donor to assist one student from each main school of study.”
