Niagara This Week covered a partnership between Niagara College and Radiant Care Tabor Manor that has created a living classroom and real-world experience for students in NC’s Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
The St. Catharines long-term care home donated space specifically for PSW students to complete their lab work in their first term of studies and get acquainted with staff before completing the practical, hands-on component with the home’s residents in the second term of the program.
PSW student Marie Vincent Enclonar is quoted in the article speaking to the hands-on experience acquired through the partnership. Carolyn Triemstra, NC’s dean of Community and Health Studies is also included, as well as Radiant Care CEO Tim Siemens, who approached the College back in 2019 about the partnership.
