On July 3, Newstalk 610 CKTB’s Shelby Knox spoke with Pam Skinner, NC’s senior vice president corporate services, and Angela Butt, associate dean of NC’s School of Nursing & Personal Support Worker Studies, about the return to campus for a limited number of students this month. As of July 6, students in the Practical Nursing (Term 4), Practical Nursing (Alternative Delivery Level 6) and Gerontology (Term 2) are approved for on-campus classes/labs to complete the practical component of their studies from the 2019-2020 winter term.
Skinner explained the safety measures implemented by the College to allow the small group of students and faculty to return-to-campus. Butt emphasized the critical role played by nurses and other health-care workers, who are needed in the community now more than ever as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
