In this photo series, Bob Tymczyszyn with the Niagara Dailies covered the annual grape harvest at Niagara College’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus at Niagara-on-the-Lake before sunrise on Thursday, January 9. Winery and Viticulture Technician program students and faculty picked grapes in NC’s vineyard in sub-zero temperatures.
Tymczyszyn writes that while it was not cold enough this winter for the grapes to be made into icewine, the grapes will be transformed into late harvest Vidal, a similar variety which is less sweet than ice wine.
