A message from Lianne Gagnon, director, Student Services:
It is with mixed feelings that I share with you the news that Cynthia Williamson, manager of our Library and Learning Commons at the Welland Campus, will be retiring at the end of the Fall 2019 term. As many of you know, since she joined the NC team in 2016, Cynthia has proven herself to be an invaluable member of our student services team and has built many strong and positive relationships with colleagues across the college. She was instrumental in guiding the LLC team through the extensive renovations activities this past year, and her leadership among that group will be missed by all the LLC staff. Prior to coming to Niagara College, Cynthia served as faculty librarian at Mohawk College, and was president of the Ontario College and University Library Association in 2009. Throughout her career, she has been a proponent of all things open source and open access, and has received library awards for adopting open source software in academic libraries.
Please join me in thanking Cynthia for her many contributions to Niagara College, and in wishing her all the best in her retirement.
