In this video released June 4, Cogeco YourTV reporter Brenda Schultz visits the automotive lab at Niagara College’s Welland Campus to speak with students in NC’s new Automotive Service Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Women. Shulz interviews two students in the program, Kristie Dulaj and Melissa Everitt about their experience in the program and their career aspirations. Shulz also speaks with program coordinator Zoe McGhie who speaks to the demand for female employees by the local automotive industry in Niagara.
The women-only pre-apprenticeship program is fully funded and provides a unique opportunity for women to enter the automotive industry and begin the path towards becoming fully accredited automotive service technicians.
