On May 24, The Welland Tribune (shared by their affiliates, The Niagara Falls Review and The St. Catharines Standard) wrote about the upcoming D-Day ceremony in Port Colborne on June 6, in which Niagara College’s Teaching Brewery will be a part.
An exact recipe of beer served to Allied troops the day prior to D-Day in Britain has been brewed by students in the Teaching Brewery and will be available for purchase at the legion after the ceremony.
The main attraction will be the flying of restored warplanes over Port Colborne. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the historic event in France during the Second World War.
The public ceremony will be hosted at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 at King George Park at 11 a.m.and will include a wreath laying, scripture reading, and rendition of ‘O Canada’ from the Port Colborne High School band.
