On May 24, The Niagara Falls Review published a piece by Laura Trabucco, community engagement librarian at Fort Erie Public Library. Trabucco’s piece is written on behalf of the Libraries in Niagara Co-operative (LiNC), of which ncLibraries and Learning Commons are a part. LiNC provides broader access to library materials across the Niagara region.

Trabucco asserts that, despite society’s reliance on the internet, libraries remain an important source for accessible, reliable, accurate, and well-researched information. She also stresses that those who are not technologically savvy or who cannot afford internet access at home rely on their local library.

Trabucco announced LiNC’s temporary solution to deal with the loss of provincial delivery services. Exchanging and returning requested items from LiNC libraries is once again possible due to the collaborative efforts of the six library systems, with once a week delivery from each library in the LiNC system.

The LiNC libraries include Fort Erie Public Library, Lincoln Public Library, Niagara College Library (both the NOTL and Welland Campuses), Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library, Pelham Public Library and Thorold Public Library.
