Healthy Debate: NC supports dementia driving assessment research

Healthy Debate highlighted NC’s support of a research initiative led by the Niagara Family Physician Dementia Care Community of Practice (CoP), which is exploring new tools to help assess driving fitness among individuals living with dementia.

The article notes that NC allocated dedicated space for the driving simulator to support its long-term availability and provided funding for the first phase of the study. A second phase of the research, currently in development, will compare simulator results with on-road driving assessments for a cohort of 50 patients.
