The three Niagara dailies (Welland Tribune, Niagara Falls Review and the St. Catharines Standard) published an article on notable Niagara figures lost in 2025, highlighting NC’s third president and a pioneer in provincial post-secondary education, Jacqueline Robarts.
The article states that when Robarts was appointed president of Niagara College in 1978, she became the first woman to lead a college in Ontario. She served for 12 years.
President Sean Kennedy is also quoted in the article: “Jacqueline Robarts leaves a remarkable legacy of leadership, and she played an important role in Niagara College’s rich history and in the lives of so many students and colleagues. In true NC fashion, she was a trailblazer with an unwavering commitment to students.”
