Athletics & Student Engagement is inviting all Niagara College employees to step away from their desks and screens and enjoy two days of a casual and fun midday break at Lawn Games 2025.
Drop in and join us for one (or both) of the following events:
- Wednesday, June 25 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Daniel J. Patterson Campus, courtyard
- Thursday, July 3 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Welland Campus, front field
This informal, drop-in event is open to all employees who want to participate, whether you are playing or just stopping by to socialize. Games such as boccia, cornhole and frisbee will be available. Bring your own lunch and drinks and enjoy the opportunity to connect with colleagues in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
“It feels like it’s the perfect time of year for employees across the college to take a beat and come outside for some fresh air,” said Dr. Chris McGrath, Vice-President of Students. “Lawn Games 2025 creates some space for people to get away from their screens and have some fun with colleagues from across NC!”
Your participation can also support the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, helping the City of Welland earn the title of Canada’s Most Active Community. The winning city will receive $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. Click here to learn more about how you can contribute to team NC.
Physical activity, play, and social connection are all important contributors to employee wellbeing. If we see strong engagement this year, we may explore launching interdepartmental competitions or incentives in the future.
