A message from Director of Planning and Institutional Research Katerina Gonzalez, and KPI Team Lead Maria Vandelaar

This past March saw the administration of the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Student Satisfaction Survey. The survey, undertaken at colleges across Ontario including Niagara College, measures student satisfaction with college programs, learning experiences, facilities and services.

Administering the survey is a significant undertaking, involving an extraordinary level of cooperation between faculty, associate deans, administrative and support staff. We would like to sincerely thank everyone for their dedication and effort in bringing this year’s survey to a successful completion.

Our thanks go to all the associate deans, administrative assistants and faculty for scheduling class time to administer the survey, accommodating TEAM KPI, and releasing staff from regular duties to administer the surveys. Also a big thank-you to the 70 survey administrators who surveyed students in class – we could not have done it without you.

We’d also like to recognize the efforts of everyone on the KPI Central Team, including Nicole Oud, Stephanie LaFratta and Barbara Heeg, who worked behind the scenes to help coordinate the survey this year. A special thanks also goes to Carol Phillips, associate dean in the School of Community Services, for allowing us to make use of her meeting space as KPI Central over the two-week survey period.

We also extend our gratitude to NC Student Administrative Council president Ryan Huckla, and the entire NCSAC team for helping administer the survey, as well as Duncan MacDuff in Planning and Institutional Research and Thomas Good and Adam Amirault in Enrolment and Registration Services for compiling the various ministry-required program data files. We’d also like to thank Ryan Morris in ITS for uploading the data needed to generate survey schedules.

The importance of the KPI Student Satisfaction cannot be overstated. Results from the survey help guide the future direction of the college, and help inform our continuous improvement efforts to ensure our facilities, services and programs are the best they can be, and serve the needs of our students. The announcement of this year’s results is expected this summer.

Once again, thank you to all who helped make this year’s survey happen. We look forward to working with you all again next year as we continue the Team KPI Spirit!

Sincerely,

Katerina Gonzalez and Maria Vandelaar
